Olympics Team
Bowling
If your child has not had an opportunity to participate in Special
Olympics, why not give it a try? We have
a great time in all our sports. Your
child can participate in as many of our sports as they want. Our bowling athletes have a great time
participating in typical bowling or ramp bowling.
Practice for Special Olympics Bowling will be once a week on Saturdays, beginning September 6th. Please notice that we will be at a different bowling alley this year.
Spare Time Lanes, 3149 S. Cooper St, Arlington, TX 76015.
Practice will start at 2:30 p.m. and will end no later than 4:00 p.m. We will bowl 2 games at each practice.
We will be competing in a local
Area competition at City View Lanes in Fort Worth on November 6-8, 2014. Athletes, 12 years or older, will have the
opportunity to compete at the Special Olympics Texas State Games in Austin, in
February 2015. A portion or all of this
event may be at the parents’ expense.
Parents must accompany their athletes to State Games.
The mission of Special Olympics
Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a
variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with
intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop
physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the
sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special
Olympics athletes and the community.
Qualifications for Athletes
A great attitude and smile
Currently enrolled in the
Mansfield ISD
In good standing with the
Mansfield ISD
At least 8 years of age by September
1, 2014
Each child must have a current
Special Olympics physical on file with the MISD Delegation before they can practice.
Please note that parents MUST
stay at each practice or have a designated ADULT caregiver for your child.
